Grief Guidance FAQ

What should I expect from one-on-one grief guidance?
Guidance, support, and radical empathy. By the end of each session you should have a sense of what to do next, a feeling that you’ve been seen, heard, and understood where you are, and a little more compassion for yourself and your journey.

How long will we be together?
The “sweet spot” for one-on-one grief guidance is 12 weeks. If you’re interested in more or less than 12 weeks of grief guidance, please contact me.

How long does each session last?
An hour.

What should I bring?
A notebook and something to write with.

What technology do you use for guidance sessions?
Phone. If you live in Chicago and would prefer in-person grief guidance, please contact me.

Do you keep records of your sessions?
I do. You’ll receive an .mp3 recording of our hour-long session and a follow-up email with notes + homework after each session.

What qualifications do you have?
My first and most important qualification is that I am a grieving person just like you; I am and continue to be a “student of grief.” Beyond my life experience, I am also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® through the Grief Recovery Method Institute and a Certified Reiki II Practitioner. *Please note I am not a mental health or medical provider.
